Educational values in WoW -- (1)

I'll be starting a series which I sincerely hope I'll continue.
This series of posts will be "teaching" u values instilled from various aspects of WoW.

Disclaimer: These post are not meant to be taken seriously, and I hope you have a laugh. However the values found in the posts can be applied in RL n I sincerely hope each one of you reading will spend a minute or so self-reflecting; on what u are now, n what u'll like to be, after each of these posts. Coz if u're not happy w what u r now, it's about time u do smth about it. =)

"Let the Games.. begin."
Topic for today: FARMING.

Farming is such an essential part of WoW. We farm for mats. We farm for gold. We farm for gear. We farm instances. Raiding is also farming. We farm for honor (most detestable form of farming for sure). What makes a farmer successful, n another.. not so successful?
It essentially boils down to the 4-letter acronym: Fuck.
...
...
I'm kidding!

Hunger Optimism Persistance Energy aka HOPE.

For all things to happen, one must start from the 1st step. Cause and effect. That 1st step, is Hunger.
Negative Example: Holy priest L flys to Felwood, hoping for Living essence drops. He needs it, but he went there just hoping no other farmers will be there to bug him, n that MAYBE one or two will drop for him.
He left after 3hrs of farming... with 1 or 2 living essence.
Postive Example: Silentstalkr, the PRO UD ROGUE FARMER, flies off to Felwood, WANTING living essence drops. He has been tasked with acquiring at least 3 of 6 living essence required by a fellow guildie.
Thoughts:
"I'm gonna get all 6 at least, if not more."
"I'm the best farmer. I scare my competitions away."
"If they wanna stay, they can, coz I will get the drops, not them."
After 3hr of farming, Silentstalkr hearthed to Org... with 6 or 7 living essences.
Farming requires DESIRE. you'll never get what you want unless you KNOW n HUNGER for it.

What fuels Hunger then? We move on to Optimism.
Every "frag" or "kill" is like an opportunity. Like every opportunity, it can fail or it can succeed. The difference between success and failure, is that you believe n have faith. Optimism.
You continuously believe that it WILL drop for you. Of course, pls check thottbot or allakhazam b4 actually placing your faith. Misplaced faith is as bad as no faith, if not worse =p
Negative Example: Resto Shammy U enters cave in WPL. He knows he wants Recipe: Greater Nature Protection Potion. He has HUNGER. He starts killing. One by one, they the elementals fall. Soon, thoughts creep in..
"Killing these are eating up my mana fast"
"I take forever to get to one elem"
"It never drops for me"
Shammy gives up n hearths to Org to farm AV rep after 1hr of farming.
Positive Example: Silentstalkr, the PRO UD ROGUE FARMER, joins Shammy U just b4 he gave up. "Lets clear this place" 1st kill.. no drop. 2nd kill.. no drop. 23rd kill... no drop. 47th kill... no drop.
"THE NEXT ONE WILL DROP IT I'M SURE"
despite repeated "failures", that same thought went thru Silentstalkr b4 every kill. Silentstalkr always believed that it'll drop for him, that the next kill/opportunity was the one for him.
Moreover, if it failed, he moved on swiftly to the next one, only taking enough time to prep up n ensure that he can move thru the next kill/opportunity (mostly no downtime at all, such is the confidence in the abilities of this PRO FARMER).
2.5hr later, Silentstalkr logs out, without a drop, but with a thought "I'll be back n it'll drop for sure"

"Weird.. he didn't get a drop.. why'd you say Silentstalkr is a successful farmer? This is a load of BS.." or so u'll think.
but I'm not done yet. I just showed that Optimism is a motivating factor to keep Hunger burning. But to succeed, u'll need all FOUR essence to be in you, n this next one is the most important: PERSISTANCE aka perseverence.
When Optimism runs low, when your Fuel runs dry, what keeps successful farmers goin, while others just up n run? PERSISTANCE.
Here's the next instalment to the Silentstalkr legacy..
The next day, Silentstalkr logged in, n finds himself at EPL LHC, where he had logged for the night. He mounts up, n rides to the cave in WPL, killing slugs along the way (Silent believes that a Larval Acid will drop along the way.. guess what? it did.)
Standing outside the cave, Silentstalkr unsheaths his blade, n as with the day before, says "Lets clear this place". Alone, our fearless farmer stealthed past ooze to kill the elementals. One after another the elementals fell.
Before an hour is up, the recipe DROPPED.
PERSISTANCE. It made Silentstalkr come back the next day, while Shammy U had given up n farmed AV n CC rep instead.

So.. just these 3 seems sufficient to see me through, right? WRONG! u may find SOME success if you have the 1st 3 essences, but w/o the 4th, u'll only be just ok. The EDGE that silentstalkr has over other farmers, his is boundless ENERGY.
Story: Silentstalkr was farming Winterfall Village for Timbermaw rep. As usual, there were many other farmers around. Silentstalkr applied the 3 essences as mentioned. But he felt that he wasn't getting enough. His Hunger drove him to want More. So he tapped into this 4th essence, ENERGY. Most ppl hate farming because it's repetitive, a bore, a chore.. n ppl never give their 100% because of it. Silentstalkr never thinks like that. Every farm run, every fight, he gives his 110%. Sprint, Evasion, Chain-pull, mount catch-up, Blade Flurry, Juju Power (^^).. Continuously Silentstalkr killed faster and faster, allowing him to reach opportunity 1st. And we all know that the 1st one to grab an opportunity will benefit the most. ^^
The mage left, the pally left, the 2 hunters left, n only the few true farmers remained.

Silentstalkr. The Pro UD Rogue Farmer.
Unleash your Farming Potential today. Tap into.. H.O.P.E.

p.s. Forever will Silentstalkr remember the NE priest who diligently farms winterfall village w Silent. /respect. to give her all n also give to others. We shared the Village.
Also to the NE rogue who shared the felwood cave. We got our living essences in the end, n /respect for giving her all n giving to others.
/hug to my most fun farming partners Shammy U (u know who u r birthday boy =p), Luella (you have more O than most of us, n it rubs off ^^ hOpe), n Zemana (hoPE. your P n E shines thru girl ^^), n all fellow hordes whom i've farmed with b4.
Lastly, Silentstalkr is a Great farmer because more than giving his all, he gives too. ^^
