Saving Grace – A Musical for the Mind is a project by the students of
the
University Scholars Club (USC) of NUS that seeks to de-stigmatise mental
illness and promote mental wellness. This musical is one of the events
held
in conjunction with the Institute of Mental Health’s 80th anniversary.
Supporters and sponsors include the Health Promotion Board, Silver
Ribbon
(Singapore), NUS Counselling Centre (UHWC) and the Lee Foundation.

Venue: NUS University Cultural Centre Theatre, 50 Kent Ridge Crescent,
Singapore 119279
Date: 26 - 28 March 2008
Time: 7.30pm

Synopsis:

Saving Grace follows the journey of a young woman, Grace, as she tries
to
lead a normal life despite suffering from bipolar disorder – under the
misdiagnosis of depression, such as overcoming her parents’ disapproval
in
accepting a marriage proposal from her boyfriend, Nathan. Her desire for
independence leads her to work extremely hard at her job, at the
expense of
her relationship with Nathan, leading to a turn of events in her mental
condition that looks set to break down all that they have laboured for.
